Attention-generated apparent motion

Article Abstract:

A third-order of motion perception mechanism, which differs from the monocular first- and second-order mechanisms, involves motion that is only apparent when close attention is paid to embedded features. This selective attention allows observers to see motion that is invisible to the other motion perception mechanisms, most likely through a feature salience map.

New mechanism for modulating colour vision

Article Abstract:

The Pacific pink salmon's behavior of switching their spectral phenotype from ultraviolet to blue by regulating the production of the appropriate opsins, as the fish grow older is described. This opsin switch in the single cones of pink salmon represents a previously undiscovered way to modulate color vision.

Long-lasting sensitization to a given colour after visual search

Article Abstract:

A search task is designed to investigate the consequences of attending to a particular color ignoring all others. The advancing of this task is done for inducing the observers to use the colors to find the target, which has long-lasted in some cases.
