The lack of safe drinking water will cause the deaths of about 1.75 million people by this time next year, accrding to the World Health Organization. Calls for the development and large-scale employment of simple technologies, and discusses the drain on resources and political issues.

Planet-planet scattering in the upsilon Andromedae system

Article Abstract:

A study on the orbital configuration of the three giant planets around upsilon Andromedae is reported. The study shows that the outer planet periodically returns to a very nearly circular state every 6,700 years.
