Article Abstract:

US House of Representatives passed a bill that would allow federal funding for research on the newly derived human embryonic stem-cell lines and if it is signed into a law it would reverse the policy set by US President George W. Bush. The sponsors of the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act convinced 50 members of Bush's Republican Party to vote against him, in favor of the bill.

The relationship between biomedical scientists and private foundations is examined. The High Q foundation and many other similar private foundations look for disease target and fund efforts in biotechnology industry.
