GM advisory panel is slanted, say critics
Article Abstract:
The National Research Council (NRC) panel to examine genetically modified pesticide-producing plant has been criticized for being slanted in favour of the biotechnology industry. The NRC is responding to criticism with the appointment to the panel of Rebecca Goldburg, a senior scientist at the Environmental Defense Fund and vetting of remaining members of the panel for the extent to which their income comes from sources with a vested interest in the outcome of the study.
