Bird communities of prairie uplands and wetlands in relation to farming practices in Saskatchewan

Article Abstract:

The avifauna of uplands and wetlands are compared in four different treatments, namely conventional farms, conservation farms, and restored or natural sites in Saskatchewan, Canada. Though bird populations may be influenced by specific farming practices, it is difficult to identify the magnitude of influences attributable to specific practices. Birds in all treatments, suggesting high conservation priority regardless of context, heavily use wetlands.

Differences in Predators of Artificial and Real Songbird Nests: Evidence of Bias in Artificial Nest Studies

Article Abstract:

Differences in depredation of real and artificial nests in test sites may be explained by bias resulting from inconclusive data provided by plasticine eggs regarding the identity of predators.
