Article Abstract:

The European Commission's proposed European Institute of Technology (EIT) has become a small, central, administrative executive that selects 'knowledge and innovation communities' (KICs) for funding research in promising areas. The German president of the European Union is planning to launch a test KIC in 2008, which will be specialized in energy efficiency and climate change.

Chinese astronomers look to Antarctic

Article Abstract:

The article discusses the various studies that are being conducted by China in the Antarctic before building up its astronomical research base in the Dome A of the continent. The place reveals a huge lump of atmosphere with a thin turbulent layer and hence is perfect for the astronomers and their researches.
