Article Abstract:

John Gearhart of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, is applying for funding to study embyronic stem cell differentiation into blood and neuronal cells. There are broad potential clinical applications, such as screening drugs on full characterized human cell lines. Ultimately, large numbers of disease-free cells could be produced for transplants.
