CENP-E is a putative kinetochore motor that accumulates just before mitosis
Article Abstract:
CENP-E, a kinesin-like motor protein that builds up during the G2 portion of the cell cycle, has been linked to the centromere-kinetochore protein complex that regulates several phases of cell division. These phases include the movement and congression of chromosome pairs. CENP-E also assists in moving the chromosomes to spindle midzone at anaphase but is removed when cell division is completed.

Chfr defines a mitotic stress checkpoint that delays entry into metaphase
Article Abstract:
A study of the chfr gene is presented with reference to its effect of mitosis. The results reveal a chfr related checkpoint that prevents metaphase entry when mitotic stress occurs.
