Changes in oceanic and terrestrial carbon uptake since 1982

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the changes in carbon isotope ratio of atmospheric CO2 reveals that there is a steady decrease in carbon 13 from 1982 to 1993. The measurements of the carbon isotopic ratio were made at various locations north and south of the equator. The analysis provides the inverse relationship between CO2 growth rate and the influence of the E1 Nino Southern Oscillation on the growth rate. The results are used in global cycle models to reveal the influence of terrestrial and oceanic consumption of fossil fuel CO2.

The age of river carbon

Article Abstract:

Issues are presented concerning the discovery that carbon washed into river deltas is very old and has been degraded before deposition. The importance of this research to the analysis of the global carbon cycle is discussed.
