Cheap IVF needed: False perceptions are hindering access to new research on in vitro fertilization

Article Abstract:

Cheap in vitro fertilization (IVF) techniques are needed in poor African countries where childlessness results in social, economic and personal repercussions, particularly for women. False perceptions that infertility is not directly life-threatening and that infertility should not be prioritized in countries, which are already overpopulated are hindering research and governments, and hence the scientific and medical communities should work together to develop low-cost IVF, which might be useful for economically weaker sections of people in rich countries too.

It's academic

Article Abstract:

Studies reveal that in the rapidly developing politics in Africa, facing different challenges, the development of scientific academies could help to put science to work in Africa. Academies are not expensive to run and they already exist in many African countries, but the missing part is the lack of political skill needed to get their advices heard and determination from scientist to make their voices heard can go a long way towards bringing their expertise to bear on African problems.

Search research

Article Abstract:

The aim of searches in operations research, the field that uses mathematical methods to optimize complex mathematical methods to optimize complex real-world structures and processes, is to remove the target, and minimize the amount of time needed when searching for such 'non-visitable' targets. Such an optimized strategy would find use in situations ranging from animals foraging for food to proteins binding on DNA.
