Colorado DOT plans ahead for Prairie preservation

Article Abstract:

The Colorado Department of Transportation plans ahead to protect tens of thousands of acres of shortgrass prairie and reduce compliance costs. CDOT is partnering with Federal Highway Administration in order to advance mitigation at an ecologically meaningful scale, instead of small projects.

Conservancy and Bad River Band of Chippewa Indians conserve tribal lands

Article Abstract:

The Conservancy and the Bad River Band protected 24 miles of rivers and streams by helping to maintain high water quality in the Kakagon/Bad River Sloughs and Chequamegon Bay. This has helped in conserving the rice beds and all of the natural resources of the Chequamegon Bay watershed.
