Conspecific sperm precedence in flour beetles

Article Abstract:

The existence of conspecific sperm precedence in flour beetles is developed by mating females to conspecific and heterospecific males of varying degree of relatedness. The implications of the findings for the influence of postmating sexual selection on speciation are discussed.

An investigation of mate choice based on manipulation of multiple ornaments in Kentish plovers

Article Abstract:

The role of two ornaments, each signalling different male attributes, in attracting a new mate in the Kentish plover are examined. The findings indicate that female Kentish plovers do not use badge size feathers as cues in their mate choice decisions.
