Article Abstract:

The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is taking steps to reduce their emission of approximately 34,000 metric tons of greenhouse gases to help New York City reach its goal of 30 percent carbon footprint reduction by 2030. The WCS' green projects include their Eco-restroom and the use of energy saving technologies at the Bronx Zoo.

Cracking the mystery virus

Article Abstract:

Issues discussed concern the diagnosis of a life-threatening virus infecting both birds and humans in New York with the help of the Wildlife Conservation Society's Pathology Department. Both the birds and humans appear to have contracted a West Nile-like virus, and the process of identifying this virus is detailed.
