Demographic Processes Underlying Population Growth and Decline in Salamandra salamandra

Article Abstract:

Results are presented from a 20-year study of Salamandra salamandra, focusing on recruitment and adult survival in a stable and a declining population. Adult survival was constant in the stable population over time, but a reduction in survival and constant recruitment was observed in the declining population. Use of both adult survival and recruitment data in amphibian conservation is recommended.

Estimated diversity in unsampled habitats of a biogeographic province

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on species estimation in a biogeorgaphic province. The authors describe the methods developed to overcome sample-size limits within a single habitat.
