Dune wars

Article Abstract:

An overview is presented on invasive plant species along Australia's coastline, including Bitou Bush, Sea Spurge and Sea Wheatgrass, many of which were introduced in dry ballast in the 18th and 19th centuries. Invasive plants compromise the seashore ecosystems by trapping sand near the ocean and by drawing nutrients away from native species.

Rainforest: defining the impossible

Article Abstract:

Botanists consider the rainforest of Australia as a complex world because it varies so much across a continent from Tasmania to Queens land. The dry rainforest of inland Queensland are accepted as rainforests because they share species with wetter rainforests and are linked to them by intermediate plant communities.
