ESA pulls back from 'fair shares' funding

Article Abstract:

The European space ministers have decided to pull back from their commitment to the principle of juste retour which provides funds to each member country through the European Space Agency (ESA) for their national aerospace industry. Each country is supposed to receive its fair share however due to increasing strain, the assigning of contract drives up costs. New rules and regulations were agreed upon during the ministerial meeting which include awarding of contracts on the basis of value for money and the contributions of each member will be adjusted accordingly.

Forged images lead to Germany inquiry

Article Abstract:

Marion Brach, professor at the University of Lubeck near Hamburg, has been accused of falsifying research paper results whilst working at Friedhelm Herrmann's laboratory at the Max Delbruck Centre for Molecular Medicine in Berlin. Herrmann denies any knowledge of the fabrication and claims that the affair has been overplayed. Brach is said to have admitted manipulating computerized images from unrelated experiments relating to cytokines and multidrug-resistance genes in cancer therapy.

University faces up to wartime use of slaves

Article Abstract:

The university of Gottingen has given the approval for a project to decide about the slave labourers employed and treated at its medical faculty under the Third Reich. The investigation was led by the historian, Andreas Frewer, who is dedicated to the project and is fighting for the cause of providing medical facility.
