Election fever inflames the US stem-cell debate

Article Abstract:

The United States House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly in May 2005 to loosen restrictions on federal funding of human embryonic stem-cell research which has led Bill First, the Republican Senate majority leader to face demands from stem-cell research advocates to deliver on promise to bring the issue to the Senate floor.
