Europe condemns Libyan trial verdict

Article Abstract:

The European (EU) and Germany forcefully condemned the verdict of the six medical workers who were sentenced to death by the Benghazi Criminal Court for deliberately infecting more than 400 children with HIV at the Al-Fateh Hospital in Benghazi in 1998. The team defending the medical workers stated that it would appeal the verdict to the Supreme Court in Libya but the six medical workers would remain condemned and grave danger till a political solution is found to free them.

Mars satellite flies into hunt for lost Beagle 2

Article Abstract:

The European Space Agency (ESA) will start operating the Mars Express Craft on 4 January to search for radio signals from Beagle2 Mars lander on Mars's surface. Mars Express carries a high resolution cameras to map the planet, a near-infrared spectrometer to assess surface mineralogy, radar to search for subsurface water, and instrument to study planet's upper atmosphere and its interaction with solar wind.

Joan of Arc's relics exposed as forgery

Article Abstract:

The European experts who analyzed the sacred scraps of the relics of St. Joan of Arc reveal that the relics are a forgery, made from the remains of an Egyptian mummy. The researchers used odour analysis, a new technique for palaeopathology to investigate the remains.
