Evaluation of Osprey habitat suitability and interaction with contaminant exposure

Article Abstract:

The containment exposure and productivity in ospreys (Pandion haliaetus) nesting on Delaware River and Bay in 2002 was evaluated because of the concerns about pollution in the highly industrialized portion of the Delaware River and Bay, USA. The results showed that the presence of occupied nests was associated with water depth, water clarity, distance to an occupied osprey nest, and presence of urban land use.

Statistical modeling of observational data with spatial dependencies

Article Abstract:

The concept of spatial autocorrelation and its incorporation into regression-type models is discussed. Geostatistical modeling and conditional autoregression ( lattice) models are analyzed and the results have helped in designing and analyzing models of the relationships between species distri butions and habitat.

Amphibian habitat associations at patch and landscape scales in the central Oregon coast range

Article Abstract:

Research on amphibian populations in Oregon's Coast Range show that species are linked with unique habitat characteristics, which complicates wildlife management across amphibian species. Amphibian distribution and abundance were, however, significantly linked with patch richness and mature forest area.
