Excessive placental secretion of neurokinin B during the third trimester causes pre-eclampsia
Article Abstract:
Pre-eclampsia is the main cause of perinatal and maternal mortality, but its aetiology is unclear, although it is known that the placenta plays an important role. A new study suggests that the peptide neurokinin B could be involved in pre-eclampsia.

Defective ribosomal products (DRiPs) constitute around 30% of newly synthesized proteins, and some represent ubiquitinated proteins. Ubiquitinated DRiPs are also formed from human immunodeficiency virus Gag polyprotein.
