Experimental realization of a one-atom laser in the regime of strong coupling

Article Abstract:

Results indicate that properties of a one-atom laser or the atom-cavity system are qualitatively different from those of the many-atom systems. The intracavity between photon number and pump inensity measurements suggest that there is no threshold for lasing. Data show that the one-atom laser produces quantum light as shown by photon antibunching and sub-poissonian photon distribution.

Push-button teleportation

Article Abstract:

A remarkable protocol for transporting quantum state from one location to another, that is a protocol that succeeds even when the quantum state is completely unknown at the respective sites is presented. The conclusion states that quantum teleportation has emerged as an essential operation for diverse tasks in quantum information science.

Observation of strong coupling between one atom and a monolithic microresonator

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to show strong coupling between individual caesium atoms and the fields of a high-quality toroidal microresonator. The coherent coupling rate for interactions near the surface of the resonator was determined from observations of transit events for single atom falling through the resonator's evanescent field.
