Fast vaccine offers hope in battle with Ebola

Article Abstract:

The new vaccine against the deadly Ebola virus, which is successfully tested on macaque monkeys, protects them from Ebola infection only four weeks after a single jab. Ebola virus causes a severe and untreatable haemorrhagic fever that kills up to 90 percent of victims by liquefying their organs.

In the shadow of war

Article Abstract:

David Kelly, a microbiologist working for the UK Ministry of Defense, was one of the many scientist whose lives were endangered due to the ongoing war between the US and Iraq, in the year 2003. The circumstances that led to his death are described.

Whale genetics study leaves conservationists all at sea

Article Abstract:

The authors report that conservationalists are concerned about the whale population study. They fear that this study, which backs the restrictions on whaling, can undermine their cause.
