Fertility hormone in repose

Article Abstract:

The three-dimensional structure of follicle-simulating hormone (FSH) bound to large extracellular region of its receptor is determined. This would lead to the development of small molecules with the same effects of FSH and it opens up the possibility of developing nonsteroidal FSH antagonists, for use of contraceptives in men to block sperm production, and in women to block oocyte development.

Weighing the baby

Article Abstract:

The effects of the mass have to be determined to weigh a star. The way mass regulates the orbits of objects in binary-star or planetary systems, the way it affects the wavelength of light through gravitational redshift, and its effects on the brightness, shape and/or location of distant objects in gravitational lensing are measured.
