Foo's paradise

Article Abstract:

Nature magazine, Google and Tim O'Reilly, an influential enthusiast of participative web activities, arranged a talkfest or a science foo, which had no grand manifesto but was essentially a platform for exchange of views among experts in different subjects. Scientists, technologists, writers were invited but formal presentations were not encouraged and the focus centered on spontaneity and stimulation to express ideas.
