Research and the Internet connection

Article Abstract:

The Internet and the World Wide Web offer a wide range of applications to scientists for pursuing their research work. The collaboration among Internet users and the major research laboratories assists in research projects such as the fusion research and the gamma-ray burst research. The major public nucleotide, and protein databases are available on the Web, and can be accessed and downloaded by researchers. The development of browsers will allow Web users to create and modify documents on their computer screens.

French clone provides support for Dolly

Article Abstract:

A French group's preliminary data appears to confirm that differentiated somatic mammalian cells can be reprogrammed to make them totipotent. This follows controversy about the authenticity of Dolly, the lamb cloned from an adult udder cell. The team at the national agricultural research agency implanted 35 cows with 61 blastocysts created by somatic cell transfer into enucleated oocytes, and one calf has already been born.
