Functional cloning of TUG as a regulator of GLUT4 glucose transporter trafficking

Article Abstract:

Results show that truncated TUG protein inhibits insulin-stimulated GLUT4 redistribution in Chinese hamster ovaries and adipocytes. However, full-length TUG forms a complex with GLUT4. Data indicate that distinct regions of TUG are involved in the binding of GLUT4 and TUG traps endocytosed GLUT4 and tethers it intracellularly.

Insulin-stimulated GLUT4 translocation requires the CAP-dependent activation of TC10

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the translocation of the GLUT4 glucose transporter protein to the cell surface from storage sites which are intracellular in order to stimulate the uptake of glucose by insulin.

CAP defines a second signalling pathway required for insulin-stimulated glucose treatment

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the localization of a Cbl-CAP complex to lipid rafts for the generation of a pathway which greatly influences glucose uptake regulation in yeast.
