Genetic evidence for complex speciation of humans and chimpanzees

Article Abstract:

A framework is developed and it is applied to base pairs of alienated sequence from humans, chimpanzees, gorillas and more distantly related primates is developed in order to study the genetic divergence time between two species varies substantially across the genome, conveying important information about the timing and process of speciation. Analysis shows that human-chimpanzee speciation occurred 63 million years ago conflicting with interpretations of ancient-fossils.

Genome duplication in the teleost fish tetraodon nigroviridis reveals the early vertebrate proto-karyotype

Article Abstract:

The genome sequence of the freshwater puffer fish tetraodon nigrovirids with long-range linage and extensive anchoring to chromosomes is analyzed. An additional ~900 predicted genes in the human genome are listed. The different ways in which Tetraodon genome will be valuable in identifying key conserved regulatory features in intergenic and intronic regions is discussed.

Sequencing and comparison of yeast species to identify genes and regulatory elements

Article Abstract:

A comparative genome analysis from Saccharomyces cerevisiae and three other related species revises 15% of the genes and reduces the total count of genes by about 500 genes. The motiff analysis identifies 72 genome-wide elements. Results also discuss about insights into the combinatorial interactions of these motifs.
