Genetic evidence for sexual selection in black ratsnakes, Elaphe obsoleta

Article Abstract:

The benefits of polyandry and phenotypic correlates of male mating success in black ratsnakes were investigated. Results suggested that snakes of both genders could benefit from actively seeking multiple matings.

Mate choice rules in animals
