Habitat associations of sympatric red-tailed hawks and northern Goshawks on the Kaibab plateau

Article Abstract:

The habitat associations of sympatric red-tailed hawks and northern Goshawks were studied using two spatial scales that were centered on nest sites. The results of the study indicated that the Kaibab plateau would be more favorable to red-tailed hawks as they will gain habitat at the mid-scale while the goshawks will loose both habitats.

Effects of radiotransmitters on Northern Goshawks: do tailmounts lower survival of breeding males?

Article Abstract:

The effects of Cormack-Jolly-Seber model of transmitters on the survival of breeding northern goshawks are discussed. Also, the comparison between leg-banded goshawks with tailmount and backpack-style radiotransmitters is highlighted.

Reproductive responses of northern goshawks to variable prey populations

Article Abstract:

A study to determine how variable prey populations influence the reproductive response of northern goshawks is conducted. It was found that goshawk reproductive rates fluctuate with differences in prey abundance.
