Increased affiliative response to vasopressin mice expressing the V1a receptor from a monogamous vole

Article Abstract:

Centrally administered arginine vasopressin is shown to increase affiliative behaviour in the prairie vole, but not in the montane vole. Gene duplication or changes in promoter structure of the prairie vole receptor gene may be involved in the species differences in vasopressin-receptor expression. Mice transgenic for the prairie vole receptor gene have a neuroanatomical pattern of receptor binding similar to the prairie vole.

Cyclophilin D-dependent mitochondrial permeability transition regulates some necrotic but not apoptotic cell death

Article Abstract:

Mice lacking cyclophilin D (CypD), a protein considered to be involved in the mPT is created, to analyze its role in cell death. The results indicate that the CypD-dependent mitochondrial permeability transition (mPT) regulates some forms of necrotic death, but not apoptotic death.

The ADP/ATP translocator is not essential for the mitochondrial permeability transition pore

Article Abstract:

The role of adenine nucleotide (ADP/ATP) translocators (ANTs) in the mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mtPTP) is investigated. The analysis reveals that ANTs are non-essential structural components of the mtPTP, even though they contribute to its regulation.
