Inferring the statistical interpretation of quantum mechanics from the classical limit

Article Abstract:

The view that the statistical interpretation of quantum mechanics cannot be inferred from the Schrodinger equation itself, and must be stated as an additional independent axiom, is discussed. This research has considered the extent to which the statistical interpretation of quantum mechanics is revealed by the theory's formalism.

Heat flow through nanobridges

Article Abstract:

An experiment is reported involving an extremely narrow bridge (about 500 atoms wide) for phonons. It is found that the amount of heat flowing across the bridge is governed by the laws of quantum mechanics.
