Sensitivity to a change in reward is heritable in the honeybee, Apis mellifera

Article Abstract:

Research describing the genetic basis for food resource tracking in honeybees is presented. It is shown that individual variation in learning performance is heritable, with selection response in drones available after a single generation.

The role of the vibration signal during queen competition in colonies of the honeybee, Apis mellifera

Influence of colony genotypic composition on the performance of hygienic behavior in the honeybee, Apis mellifera L

Article Abstract:

Research describing hygienic behavior in honeybees is presented. It is shown that the performance of hygienic behavior is dependent upon the proportion hygienic bees in the colony.
