The life and career of the present chairman of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Philip Yeo, is discussed. His achievement involves the development of Biopolis complex in Singapore for housing research institutes specializing in genomics, bioinformatics, bioprocessing and bioengineering.

Article Abstract:

A research report related to the innate immune system based on creation of army of knockout mice with 12 toll-like receptor genes is reviewed. The findings provides insight into the function of toll-like receptor 9, one of the family of human proteins that have changed the field of immunology and human disease.
