Coupling and cross-presentation

Article Abstract:

Studies of cultured cells have shown that the immune system has a clever way of dealing with microorganisms that invade the cells. Various investigations have shown that cross-presentation can involve the transfer of larger protein fragments, emphasizing that gap-junction-mediated cross-presentation is not the only mechanism for antigen transfer.
