Britain moves closer to hunting, fur farm bans

Article Abstract:

A Private Member's bill to ban hunting with hounds will be introduced in the UK Parliamanet, but it is not expected to pass. A bill to end fur farming in 2002 is more certain to become law.

U.K. hunting bill progresses

Article Abstract:

On January 18, 2001, a bill to abolish hunting with dogs in the United Kingdom passed another stage in its development through the House of Commons. Although the issue has been a source of contention for many years, it wasn't until the Labor party was elected into government in 1997 that the prospect of a ban became feasible.

Labor party victory may help animals in Britain

Article Abstract:

Labor Party's triumph over the Conservative party may trigger the banning of excessive factory farming and cosmetic testing on animals. The party may also push for the illegalization of fox hunting and hare coursing.
