Life-history trade-offs favour the evolution of animal personalities

Article Abstract:

Evolutionary model is used to show that the basic principle results in the evolution of animal personalities and explains the coexistence of behavioral types. The model has explained the common finding that explorative behavior and risk-related traits like boldness and aggressiveness are common characteristics of animal personalities.
