Article Abstract:

Italy ranks sixth among world economies and sixth among United Kingdom export markets. UK direct investment in Italy amounted to 414 million pounds sterling in 1994, and Italian direct investment in the UK was 177 million pounds in that year. Southern Italy is less wealthy and less industrial than the north and has higher levels of unemployment. Bureaucracy can be a problem and appears to have worsened, with environmental protection laws varying from one region to another.

The 26th annual New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, which took place in April and May 1995, featured such legendary performers as B.B. King, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, and Jimmie Smith. Some 400,000 people attended shows at the 1995 festival.
