'Medicinal plants threatened by over-use.'

Article Abstract:

A London-based management consultancy firm has reported that medicinal plants are threatened with extinction in the wild because of the growing market for herbal medicines. The report recommends measures to cultivate endangered medicinal plants, particularly in China and India, where the gathering of medicinal plants is widespread. The report also calls for the creation of a group of herbal companies which will address the conservation of medicinal plants.
