Methyltransferases in foci

Article Abstract:

The protein DNA methyltransferase (MTase), which methylates cytosine residues in DNA to form 5-methylcytosine, has been found to co-localize with newly replicated DNA in late S-phase nuclei. Duplication of features of the eukaryotic chromosome other than DNA, for example DNA methylation and chromatin modification processes, is required for the cell cycle. The step-wise nature of these processes and the role of MTase at several stages probably explains its presence at the replication foci.

Principles of CDK regulation

Article Abstract:

The study of the regulation of cyclin-dependent kinases by intra- and extra cellular signals reveals that the cyclin dependent kinase activity is controlled by four conserved biochemical processes. These processes form a group of regulatory pathways and facilitate the primary transitions occurring in the eukaryotic cell cycle.

MAP kinase-related FUS3 from S. cerevisiae by STE7 in vitro

Article Abstract:

The role of STE7 in the catalytic activity of FUS3 is demontrated. The currrent experiment and previous genetic studies show that STE7 activates FUS3 catalysis by altering the substance at specific sites. These show that the signal transduction pathway in eukaryotes utilize homologous kinase cascades.
