NIH launches discussion of in utero gene therapy...

Article Abstract:

The US National Institutes of Health (NIH) will begin discussions on the desirability of in utero gene therapy. They are a treatment for alpha-thalassaemia and a treatment for severe combined immunodeficiency, but there are risks, such as altering germ cells, introducing harmful mutations and possible toxic side effects.
