Nanotech's big issue

Article Abstract:

The number of nanoproducts being developed and ready to be available in the markets for the consumers is increasing but there are concerns about the growth and development of the nanosector. The concerns over health and safety issues are coming to surface, as there is no regulations governing the nanotechnology related products and also concerns about the likely hazards of the product to be risk-free for the entire life are being expressed which are likely to hamper the development of the sector.

Crunch time for multiple-gene tests

Article Abstract:

Many sophisticated new laboratory-developed genetic tests will be under threat, unless it gets approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), insurers and doctors. The FDA review is going to clarify the rules for existing tests and map out suggested regulations for the new ones such as Oncotype DX, which are collectively known as in vitro diagnostic multivariate index assays and use multiple tests and sophisticated algorithms to generate results.
