National Marine Protected Areas Network: Palau
Article Abstract:
The immunity to coral bleaching as seen in the coral reefs of Palau, is emerging as a test case for a worldwide reef protection strategy. Plans for the development of a nationwide system of marine protected areas linked by ocean currents that will enable reefs to replenish one another are discussed.

The creation of the Yunnan Great Rivers Project by The Nature Conservancy to protect the region's extraordinary natural and cultural diversity, while integrating conservation with economic development is discussed. Former Chinese Premier Jiang Zemin's approval of the above project is highlighted.
