The total quality revolution

Article Abstract:

US corporations must discard their complacent attitude and adopt total quality management (TQM) if they are to succeed in the global marketplaceof the 1990s. TQM should be a management philosophy that pervades and integrates itself into the corporate culture. Aside from this, TQM should instill loyalty and trust in employees so that they can better respond to the needs and demands of customers. To meet the employee function of TQM, health benefits programs must be optimized through health care value purchasing.

Neither too loud nor too quiet

Article Abstract:

New research has challenged widely-held views about how glutamate activates NMDA receptors. It has been established that NMDA receptors are far from saturated by a single release event. It is concluded that a single release event falls approximately in the middle of the dynamic (response) range for a cluster of NMDA receptors. There is still considerable debate about the relative occupancy of AMPA and NMDA receptors.
