Oceans cool off in hottest years

Article Abstract:

Ocean measurements indicate that the world's seas have cooled considerably during some of the warmest years in recent history. Oceanographers, however, do not read too much into this, stating that such phenomenon is just a short-term fluctuation in an ocean that is warming overall and suggests that knowledge about global climate system is still insufficient.

Global warming has resulted in Arctic Ocean losing more and more ice every summer. The author contemplates on consequence of receding ice cover and its effect on humans, animals and birds living in the Arctic.
