Housecat-size foxes are only found on the San Miguel island. San Miguel, farthest of the five islands off the California islands that make up the Channel Islands National park, was the home of 450 of the Housecat-size fox but the Golden eagles have thinned the fox populations on all the northern Channel islands.

The passage time, that is, the time taken by animals to digest their food, is longest in snakes varying with the type of snake. Studies have found a positive correlation with the passage time and the body mass of a variety of snakes, where heavier snakes accumulate their feces for a longer period of time.
