Phase measurement in a quantum dot via a double-slit interference experiment

Article Abstract:

The wave nature of the electrons is vital to the characterization of the transport properties of quantum dots and other minute electronic devices. Phase measurements are essential because exposure to these devices can alter the phase of an electrons's wavefunction. A double-slit experiment allowing the measurement of the phase-shift of an electron traversing a quantum lot is discussed. A model ignoring the interaction between the electrons within the quantum dot offers a qualitative explanation for the phase evolution within a resonance of the dot.

Interference between two distinguishable electrons from independent sources

Article Abstract:

The study explains the interference quantum between any two distinguishable electrons from independent sources, which is normally a result of quantum exchange statistics. The experiments prove that such interactions are a direct result of quantum enlargement between the spatial degrees of freedom of the two particles.

An electronic Mach-Zehnder interferometer

Article Abstract:

The fabrication and operation of a single-channel, two path electron interferometer that functions in a high magnetic field, is reported. This device is the first electronic analogue of the optical Mach-Zehnder interferometer and opens the way to measuring interference of quasi particles with fractional charges.
