Pluto: The backlash begins

Article Abstract:

Scientists are critical of the criteria adopted to define a planet, which resulted in the demotion of Pluto from a planet to a 'dwarf planet' in the 24 August, 2006 general assembly of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in Prague. They believe that the definition of a planet is unclear and want the IAU to offer a better definition, and are also dissatisfied with the faulty method of decision-making in which only a few hundred out of the 9000 members of the IAU voted on the issue in Prague.

A little goes a long way

Article Abstract:

Mircroreactor technology, a convergence of the miniaturization of chemical and biological analysis techniques and the engineering of computer chips is making its leap into industry. The devices, by performing faster, safer and easier to control chemical reactions, offer the extra flexibility to pharmaceutical and fine chemical industry, which produce high-value products in small batches.
