Potent and specific genetic interference by double-standed RNA in Caenorhabditis elegans

Article Abstract:

Gene expression has neem manipulated in enmatode worms using RNA interference. Double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) has been found to be more effective in creating interference than were strands used individually. There was a potent and specific effect from dsRNA, while the effect from single strands was modest. The progeny of the injected nematodes showed this effect, as well as the injected animals themselves. There was an effect from injections of just a few dsRNA molecules.

Towards a genetic history of China

Article Abstract:

In human evolution physical traits mostly reflect the geography of the environment rather than the history. Chu and colleagues have made a genetic analysis of China of finer resolution than has previously been attempted. They used 15-30 microsatellites for testing genetic variability in 28 samples and summarized the genetic differences in two phylogenetic trees.
