Pyramid power

Article Abstract:

Researchers from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City are conducting a research for determining the secrets of the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan using a state-of-the-art particle detector. The researchers hope that the machine will detect the cosmic rays that pass through the stone and dirt and thus generate a picture of what exists inside the pyramid.

One place, one parent, two species

Article Abstract:

Sympatric speciation is where two or more species diverge from a common ancestor despite sharing the same habitat. Two such cases have been reported, one at Nicaragua where two fish species that have apparently diverged despite sharing a relatively small lake and the other on a remote Australian island where two species of palm trees seem to have diverged.
