Quake triggeres research expedition

Article Abstract:

The earthquake in Algeria which killed more than 2,000 people has made French Earth scientists to launch a full-scale expedition to the country. The scientists need to collect and investigate the earthquake and its aftershock data, and to verify the hypothesis that the earthquake has been triggered by the underwater landslide.

Quake aid hampered by ban on web shots

Article Abstract:

Pakistan government has forced the international agencies and relief organizations to remove the high-resolution satellite images of earthquake, which struck Kashmir on October 8, 2005, from their websites to protect national security. However, this step results in constraints for these agencies to gather help for the victims.

Japan consoled with contracts as France snares fusion project

Article Abstract:

France is chosen to host a billion dollar international thermonuclear experiment on 28 June 2005, after an 18-month stalemate over whether Japan or France should host the project ITER. If the project goes well, it will be the first fusion experiment that generates more energy than it uses.
